01/06 新年的立志1

18世紀有些美國青少年,會寫下他的立志,並且每星期至少一次重讀這些話,操練他的生命;我們也可以學習這麼做,像美國偉大的神學家與牧師,愛德華滋(Jonathan Edwards)寫下來的立志:

  • 立志去做任何我認為最能榮耀神,對我最有益處、最合適、最令我喜悅的事;只要我活著,我定意去做這些事,無論需要花多少時間。
  • 立志去做就我所了解是我的責任並能對人類提供最大好處的事;立志去做這些事,無論將經歷多艱巨、多嚴苛的困難。
  • 立志繼續努力去發現新的方法,來操練並促進前面這項立志。
  • 立志絕不損失一刻鐘,乃要盡我所能,以最有價值的方式善用時間。
